I’ve shared a recording of last week’s DEAD DROP Live on YouTube. (And it’s embedded below.) The fun starts at the 11:00 mark (otherwise, it’s just a chill “stream starting soon” countdown). This was my first attempt at streaming, and while I think it went rather well, I’ve already made some adjustments for the next stream to make it easier to watch after the fact. Next week I’m planning on giving a behind-the-scenes look at the work that goes into creating an Old Haunt. So come join me and watch live on my Twitch channel next Tuesday, from 6–7 PM PDT. Should be a good time.
I hope you enjoy the reading and the Q&A session. If you haven’t nabbed your copy of Gleam Upon the Waves you can do so via any of the links below. Signed-books are coming soon. (I’ll post when they arrive.)
Gleam Upon the Waves is out right now! Join Waldo Bell and crew as they embark on a journey across the sea to the city of Empress, the capital of the hermit nation of Victory. As troubles mount, Wal will discover darkness runs deeper than he ever thought possible; reality is not what it seems, and a new apocalypse is closer than anyone predicted. I am so excited to finally get it out the door and in people’s hands. It’s been a long time coming.
Where to get your copy
For those who prefer paperbacks, you can pick up Gleam Upon the Waves from Amazon today, but it’ll begin to show up on other stores as well. (I’ll update the links below as they come online.) If you’re looking for signed copies, I’ll offer those through my store in the coming weeks.
For ebook readers, you can pick up an eBook of Red Litten World from any of the following platforms. If there’s a platform you prefer that I don’t currently support, please to email me and let me know, I’d love to get my books onto your favorite.
Be sure you add Gleam Upon the Waves to your currently-reading list on Goodreads, and when you finish, leave a review! I can blog and tweet and shout from my roof, but it’s my readers that make all the difference when it comes to spreading the word.
Join me tonight for Dead Drop Live!
Tonight from 6–7 PM PST I’ll be streaming on Dead Drop Live on Twitch. You’re invited to come and join the fun. I’ll be doing a reading. Answering questions. Showing off all the new swag and possibly doing a giveaway. (Trying to figure out the easiest way to do that.) Should be a fun hot-mess of a time so please, come join me!
Enjoy Gleam Upon the Waves!
Thank you all for supporting this work over the years. I appreciate your emails, comments, reviews, blog posts, fan art—everything. Your excitement means a lot to me, and I sincerely hope you enjoy your time in Gleam Upon the Waves. Welcome back to the Territories, roaders.
Dead Drop is the name of my infrequent newsletter. (Subscribe, heathen!) The name comes from the method of espionage tradecraft used during the cold war era to exchange information. I always felt it fitted a newsletter that only comes once or twice a year (if you’re lucky). But, on Tuesday, March 30th, in celebration of the launch of Gleam Upon the Waves, Dead Drop is emerging from the shadowed spaces and going LIVE.
I’m going to be doing a reading from Gleam Upon the Waves. (Probably Chapter 4.) I’m going to be answering questions. I’m going to be showing the new swag. Maybe we’ll do a giveaway? Who knows! I’ve never done this before! I’m old. Streaming is new and weird to me. Let’s make it extra weird. So, mark your calendars and come join me! You’re invited.
Can’t make it. Don’t worry, the stream will be recorded and available later. But really, what else do you have happening on a Tuesday night in March during a pandemic? Exactly. I’ll see you there.
As many of you know, with the launch of each novel in The Bell Forging Cycle, I’ve released three custom bookmarks—Gleam Upon the Waves will be no different. Today, I’m excited to share two of them! I think you’ll dig ’em. The third—to be revealed later—it’s still in production and will deviate a little from the standard 2″x6″ square format if everything works out (or it’ll be fairly normal if they don’t.)
You can see detailed version below. There’s the standard title-style bookmark which matches the other series’ sets, and one modeled after a ticket from The Gamble. (Which you’ll get to visit real soon.) Both feature spot gloss on the front and back. (It really makes that bloodstain pa-pop!) I’ll share the top-secret third bookmark when it’s available and ready!
It feels a little unreal to write this, but Gleam Upon the Waves arrives next Tuesday, March 30th! That’s right, Book IV is nearly here. I hope you’re ready, roader. Are you looking for something to do in the meantime? Here are a few ideas:
