Gleam Upon the Waves Cover Reveal

It’s GLEAM UPON THE WAVES Day!

Gleam Upon the Waves is out right now! Join Waldo Bell and crew as they embark on a journey across the sea to the city of Empress, the capital of the hermit nation of Victory. As troubles mount, Wal will discover darkness runs deeper than he ever thought possible; reality is not what it seems, and a new apocalypse is closer than anyone predicted. I am so excited to finally get it out the door and in people’s hands. It’s been a long time coming.

Based on emails I’ve gotten over the last few years, I suppose this is the moment many of you had been anticipating. I’m very proud to announce that Gleam Upon the Waves is done and will be arriving on March 30th, 2021. Nope, that’s not one long typo. It’s actually happening, and I can’t stop smiling about it. In twenty-seven days, you’ll be able to return to Lovat and the world of the Territories and join Waldo Bell and the crew of the Bell Caravans on their next adventure.

Paperbacks are coming!

Paperback editions will land on launch day and they’re looking really good. Currently, the book is sitting at the 450-page mark, making Gleam Upon the Waves the longest book of the series (so far). I think all you paperback readers will be pleased.

The first print proof arrived last week – feels so solid in-hand

Read a Sample Chapter Tomorrow!

Tomorrow I’ll be releasing a sample from Gleam Upon the Waves. So for those interested, you’ll be able to dive in a little early and discover what’s happening in the city of Lovat. As before, this will be the Prologue. It’s a little different from the previous prologues—I think you’ll dig it. [Update: It’s live! You can read it over here.]

But wait, there’s more!

I can’t tell you how great it feels to finally announce this. I hope you’re as excited as I am.

There’s lots more coming over the next few weeks, as well. I have all sorts of stuff planned between now and the 30th. New swag and bookmarks are on their way. I’ve assembled a themed playlist to tantalize your ears, and I’ll be sharing that soon. There will be new Old Haunts to visit. Plus, I’m planning on doing a live reading from the book—just need to figure out when to do it and where I want to host it. Pull up a chair and stick around. Gleam Upon the Waves is nearly here.

Introducing: Gleam Upon the Waves

Introducing: Gleam Upon the Waves

It’s been far too long so let’s make this official. If you’ve followed my Project Tracker, you’ll have noticed that I’m now halfway into writing the fourth novel of The Bell Forging Cycle. It’s high time I announce it.

Waldo Bell will return in: Gleam Upon the Waves.

Hired to work security for a political envoy, Waldo Bell and the crew of the Bell Caravans find themselves en route to Empress, the capital city of the hermit-nation of Victory. But things are never as simple as they seem. Sinister forces are circling; stuck in the middle, Wal will learn that darkness runs much deeper than he ever thought possible, reality is not what it seems, and a new apocalypse is much closer than anyone anticipates.

I’m targeting Gleam Upon the Waves to be about the length of Red Litten World. The story itself will be standalone, but we’re now at a point where reading the previous books will be helpful. If you read Red Litten World, you understand that there are a lot of moving parts now.

A teaser site has been live for a while but, you can see it here and read the epigraph. You can also check out my inspiration board over on Pinterest. Barring any unforeseen circumstances, the plan is to work on this until it’s out. Y’all have been more than patient, and I’m excited. I think you’ll enjoy it.

I’ll see you on the trails, roaders. Things are going to get weird.

Welcome back to Lovat

It’s Red Litten World Day—Welcome Back To Lovat

Red Litten World is out now! The misadventures of Waldo Bell continue. (Links to purchase below.) I’m so excited to be taking everyone from the high deserts of the Territories and back into the claustrophobic corridors and grungy warrens of Lovat. I think longtime readers will find a lot to enjoy Red Litten World, and new readers will have a blast learning about the megalopolis and its strange inhabitants and cultures. Setting out, the goal was to write something that felt both familiar but kept things fascinating. Thankfully, Lovat is a rich enough setting that I could write a book every year for a lifetime and still not explore every corner of the city.

For those who prefer paperbacks, you can pick up Red Litten World from any of the links below. If you’re looking for signed copies, I sell them through my online store for $15 (plus shipping). They look awesome.

Amazon  •  My Store  •  Barnes & Noble  •  CreateSpace

For those eBook readers, you can pick up an eBook of Red Litten World from any of the following platforms. (Nook always trails a bit, but the book should be up there in the next few days.) [Update: Nook is live!] Is there a platform you prefer that I don’t currently support? Feel free to email me and let me know, I’d love to get my books onto your favorite.

Kindle  •  Kobo  •  iBooks  •  GooglePlay  •  My Store  •  Nook

Make sure you add Red Litten World to your currently-reading list on Goodreads, and please when you’re finished, leave a review. I can blog and tweet and shout from my roof, but it’s my readers that make all the difference when it comes to spreading the word.

I hope you enjoy Red Litten World, everyone. Welcome back to Lovat.

Old Broken Road Is Coming Tuesday, October 14th!

Old Broken Road is out now!

That’s right, October 14th! Grab your keff and lace up your boots. Two weeks from now you’ll be able to join Waldo Bell on his next adventure: Old Broken Road.

That Tuesday the novel will be available digitally from Kindle, Kobo, iBooks, with Nook coming shortly afterward. Paperback copies are already in the works. I’m hoping they’ll be ready by October 14th, but if I can’t hit that date don’t worry, they’ll be coming soon. More on that as it develops.
