Red Litten World arrives October 6th, 2015

More Red Litten World eBook Preorder Channels Open

We’re drawing closer and closer to the launch of Red Litten World on October 6th, 2015—less than a month!—and as of today there are more ways for you to preorder the eBook and have it arrive on your reader on launch day.

Currently Available for Preorder

Here’re the current channels where Red Litten World can be preordered.

Currently Live but not Available for Preorder

These are the locations where you can look at Red Litten World but not actually preorder it. I guess you can like look at it longingly or something. I do wish there was a way to do it through my store, but as of now there are no options for preorders. You can order a sweet Bell Caravans patch, though!

Unavailable Because Reasons
  • Nook

Yeah, there’s no link for Nook. Which is a bummer because I know I have a bunch of readers who use the Nook platform. (Sales-wise, it’s my second highest channel.) I apologize to my fans who read on Nook. This is in Barnes & Nobles court and based on their unchanging backend this probably won’t be resolved anytime soon. That said, Red Litten World will still arrive for Nook readers on October 6th, it just won’t be all magical and auto-delivered.

So those are the open channels. It’s thrilling to see everyone’s excitement. Thank you all for your emails and notes of encouragement. I’m looking forward to taking you back to Lovat. In the meantime, make sure you add Red Litten World to your to-read list on Goodreads. And, if you haven’t, please go and leave an honest review for the previous books in the series: The Stars Were Right and Old Broken Road. Reviews really help me and your fellow readers out. Thanks!

Old Broken Road

What Are Readers Saying About Old Broken Road?

Old Broken Road has been out for nearly a month, and reviews are starting to appear! Yay! What are readers saying? Check out some of my favorite quotes below:

“A smoldering delight!”

— Steve, on Goodreads

“…do as the roaders do, and let yourself be swept along to the edge of the map, where uneasy cartographers turned back and wrote ‘Here There Be Monsters’.”

—Sky, on Amazon

“New characters, new landscapes, and new horrors make Old Broken Road a worthy effort, and expand on the universe Wal, Wensem, and their crew inhabit. Loved every moment of it.”

—Sabih, on Amazon

“The dread will weigh heavily on you as you flip each page. But you won’t want to stop.”

—Justin, on Goodreads

“The strange journey across the Broken Road really put me in mind of some of my favorite Dark Tower novels… I found myself pretty well creeped out at times!”

— Raedia, on Amazon

“The spookiness and plot twists keep you on the edge of your seat. Great balance between an alien world and humanity as we know it.”

—Vanessa, on Amazon

Huge thanks to everyone who bought the book, and left a review. I really appreciate it and I am glad so many people are enjoying the book.

Old Broken Road Coming Soon!

Old Broken Road Is Coming Tuesday, October 14th!

Old Broken Road is out now!

That’s right, October 14th! Grab your keff and lace up your boots. Two weeks from now you’ll be able to join Waldo Bell on his next adventure: Old Broken Road.

That Tuesday the novel will be available digitally from Kindle, Kobo, iBooks, with Nook coming shortly afterward. Paperback copies are already in the works. I’m hoping they’ll be ready by October 14th, but if I can’t hit that date don’t worry, they’ll be coming soon. More on that as it develops.

Along with this announcement I have lowered the eBook version of The Stars Were Right to $2.99 pretty much everywhere. If you haven’t had a chance to read the first book now is a great time to grab it and start reading.

Get excited! There’s more to come. Check back often and make sure to add Old Broken Road to your to-read list on Goodreads, and tell your friends!

Sony Exits From The eBook Market

Sony exits and the ebook business

Sony has finally decided to exit the eBook space. While personally I have never been impressed with Sony’s readers, I do find this a bit sad as they were one of the eBook pioneers. However with strong rivals and little innovation on their part this really isn’t a surprise. Sony just doesn’t have the numbers to keep supporting development. According to their press release Sony will be transitioning Reader Store to Toronto based Kobo.

Shatskin has a really good write up on the whole thing over on his blog. He includes some links speculating that Nook will be shuttered by the end of the year. I’d recommend checking it out.

Writing, Editing, Updating…

The Stars Were Right - by K. M. Alexander
National Novel Writing Month is in full swing, and if you’re participating I hope everything is trucking along for you. Those first few days are fun. Stick with it, even when the going gets tough. I know when I first participated I learned a lot about how I work and what need to do to be successful – that said, I have never “won” NaNoWriMo. You know what? That’s okay. The important thing is I am writing.

As with the years before I am participating. I’m working on a new title (it’s the unnamed one in the right hand tracker) I had a bit of a jump on it, but I was able to complete 6300 words over the weekend. Not as much as I wanted but sizeable and it puts me on course to finish the 50k word goal at the end of the month.

Things are still going great for “The Stars Were Right” sales are steady. With the exception of Nook (which has become a huge thorn in my side) the book is now available in every major eBook store, and is getting great reviews on Amazon and Goodreads. So if you haven’t bought it yet, pick your poison!

Physical copies of Stars are getting real close. I am real excited. I have a pretty cool promotion worked up, I think you all will love it. More to come on that a later. I will also have some updates on “Old Broken Road” coming soon. Until then it’s back to work!
