DEAD DROP Live now on YouTube

I’ve shared a recording of last week’s DEAD DROP Live on YouTube. (And it’s embedded below.) The fun starts at the 11:00 mark (otherwise, it’s just a chill “stream starting soon” countdown). This was my first attempt at streaming, and while I think it went rather well, I’ve already made some adjustments for the next stream to make it easier to watch after the fact. Next week I’m planning on giving a behind-the-scenes look at the work that goes into creating an Old Haunt. So come join me and watch live on my Twitch channel next Tuesday, from 6–7 PM PDT. Should be a good time.

I hope you enjoy the reading and the Q&A session. If you haven’t nabbed your copy of Gleam Upon the Waves you can do so via any of the links below. Signed-books are coming soon. (I’ll post when they arrive.)

The Stars Were Right is a BookNest SPFBO Semi-Finalist

‘The Stars Were Right’ is a SPFBO Semi-Finalist

Woke up this morning to discover that Rob J. Hayes selected The Stars Were Right, my Lovecraftian urban fantasy, as one of BookNest’s semi-finalists for SPFBO 4! Hooray! This means it’s survived the first culling and is still in the running to be one of the final ten. I couldn’t be more honored or excited. Big thanks to Rob and the rest of the crew at BookNest for trucking through so many books. Be sure to check out Rob’s review over on the site.

The next round will be tough, I’m up against some fierce competition. But that said, I didn’t expect my strange little book to even be a contender in a contest usually dominated by more traditional fantasy offerings. It’s been fun to be a part of this so far, and the community has been fantastic.

Mark Lawrence has updated the Phase 1 list, and you can check it out over on his blog and see who I’m up against for the next round. Also, be sure to check out my SPFBO interview with fellow contestant and author, Michael R. Baker.

Want to read the book? You can buy digital/ebook copies of The Stars Were Right at any of the links below—it’s only $2.99 which is cheaper than a latte these days.

Kindle • Kobo • Nook • iBooks • GooglePlay • DRM-Free ePub

Not an ebook reader? If you prefer the smell and feel of paper, you can buy the trade paperback from any of these fine establishments. I also sell signed copies through my own store, and I ship anywhere.

Amazon • Barnes & Noble • Powell’s • BAM! • Signed Copies

Good luck to my fellow semi-finalists and to all the participants. I’m sure there will be much more to come and win or lose I’ll be sure to let you know The Stars Were Right’s fate right here.

Story time!

Quick Stock Update

I’ve gotten a few emails from readers, so I figured it’d be easiest to address this here. Yes, I’m still out of stock of both signed paperback copies of The Stars Were Right [I sold out at Lilac City Comicon] and it’s  associated Swag Pack over in my store. Typically I’d be replacing them ASAP. But, I rolled right from the convention into a week and a half of travel [which you can read about here], and it delayed things a bit. Ah, the joys and perils of running your own storefront.

But, the good news is more books and swag materials are on the way! Hooray! I should have copies of The Stars Were Right by next Monday, the Swag Packs a week or so after that. I’m sure I’ll announce the arrival over on Twitter when they show, so make sure you’re following me there. If you just cannot wait (bless you,) you can get unsigned paperbacks from any of the following stores:

Old Broken Road

What Are Readers Saying About Old Broken Road?

Old Broken Road has been out for nearly a month, and reviews are starting to appear! Yay! What are readers saying? Check out some of my favorite quotes below:

“A smoldering delight!”

— Steve, on Goodreads

“…do as the roaders do, and let yourself be swept along to the edge of the map, where uneasy cartographers turned back and wrote ‘Here There Be Monsters’.”

—Sky, on Amazon

“New characters, new landscapes, and new horrors make Old Broken Road a worthy effort, and expand on the universe Wal, Wensem, and their crew inhabit. Loved every moment of it.”

—Sabih, on Amazon

“The dread will weigh heavily on you as you flip each page. But you won’t want to stop.”

—Justin, on Goodreads

“The strange journey across the Broken Road really put me in mind of some of my favorite Dark Tower novels… I found myself pretty well creeped out at times!”

— Raedia, on Amazon

“The spookiness and plot twists keep you on the edge of your seat. Great balance between an alien world and humanity as we know it.”

—Vanessa, on Amazon
